Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage implementation and evaluation of new and emerging accounting standards. Research technical guidance and communicate conclusions to various functional groups internally regarding accounting issues. Ensure that general accounting policies and procedures are prepared, reviewed, modified, periodically updated and submitted to Risk Management Committee for approval. Act as Finance and Accounting Sarbanes – Oxley Section 404 representative; ensure all SOX narratives for accounting department are timely updated. Lead or assist with special accounting and reporting projects as assigned. Prepare and administer quality control and self-audit procedures for the department on a periodic basis. Ensure clean audit trails and maintain adequate supporting documentation for all areas of responsibility. Act as a direct liaison with the on-site external accountants, internal auditors, and with GDBF/FDIC regulators for accounting policy matters.
